Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP)

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is an innovative intervention developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, that can be used along with other therapeutic interventions to reduce anxiety, depression, irritability, anger, stress, emotional dysregulation, PTSD symptoms. SSP is also helpful in reducing hearing sensitivities, disorganization and difficulties with focus and attention. The intervention uses music to strengthen the inner ear muscles. By strengthening muscles of the inner ear individuals are better able to tune out low frequency sounds and tune into higher frequency sounds.


These higher frequency sounds improve emotional regulation. 

When we are emotionally regulated we are calmer, less distressed by our environment, able to concentrate and focus, feel less fearful, depressed and anxious and experience less sensitivity to sounds. Better emotional regulation enables us to connect socially with  others, develop trusting relationships, feel safe, and grounded.

For parents, learning the tools to be an effective emotional coach to build your child's confidence and help them grow socially, emotionally and intellectually.  Children who are Emotion Coached are more likely to experience success in peer friendships, gainful employment, and academic performance.​


Making mental health a priority can be difficult when there are demands upon one's time. If you are a busy parent, or a working professional without time to spare, or just live in an area where mental health access is limited taking care of yourself can be a challenge. Positive Discipline 

Positive Discipline is a parenting program developed by Dr. Jane Nelson. Positive Discipline can be used to address temper tantrums, academic performance, fighting, issues with chores/homework, bedtime challenges, and many more unwanted behaviors.



Hypnotherapy is useful because it can accelerate change. It is often our unconscious beliefs that interfere with our ability to make meaningful change.  Hypnosis is useful for changing unwanted behaviors (i.e. tobacco use, ineffective/harmful relationship patterns, unhealthy food choices, etc.). During hypnosis you replace unwanted behaviors with wanted behaviors (healthy food choices, cessations of cravings, effective relationship habits, etc.).


Trained Gottman Couples Therapy

The Gottman Method is a research based approach to strengthening relationships. The research shows us that to make a relationship last couples must become better friends, learn to manage conflict, and create ways to support each other’s hopes for the future.
